ashmo.io
A personal platform for thinking out loud. Built to document 25 years of business lessons — not as advice, but as lived experience.
Why Build This
For two decades, I was the person behind the brand — never in front of it. FiLLi was the story the world knew. But the thinking behind FiLLi, the merchant instincts, the patience, the mistakes — those stories lived only in my head.
ashmo.io exists because I believe the most useful business lessons are the ones nobody writes down. The messy ones. The ones that don’t fit into a LinkedIn post.
What It Is
A thinking platform — not a blog, not a portfolio. A space where I write about what I’ve learned from building brands, running businesses, and staying in the game for 25 years.
Five content pillars:
- Merchant Mindset — lessons from the grocery shop that still apply
- Brand Building & Cafe Growth — the real mechanics of scaling
- AI & The Future of Selling — where technology meets commerce
- Habit Philosophy — discipline as a practice, not a personality trait
- Founder Documentary — building in public, documenting the journey
How It’s Built
Intentionally simple. Astro for static generation. Markdown for content. Netlify for deployment. No CMS, no database, no complexity. The technology stays out of the way so the writing can breathe.
The design follows the same principle — dark, focused, minimal. Playfair Display for headings because the content deserves weight. Inter for body because readability is respect.
The Real Work
The hardest part of ashmo.io isn’t the code or the design. It’s the discipline of writing honestly about business when the internet rewards performance over substance.
This platform is a bet that depth still matters.
Start with why brand positioning is the hardest thing to get right, or go deeper into the merchant mindset that shaped everything. The podcast is where these ideas get the space they deserve.
